iFire began as a specialist fire alarm company built around technical expertise and personal service. It is now a complete fire and security provider, still run by the same local team.
iFire was founded in Edinburgh in 2009 by father and son David and Derek Boyle, as a specialist fire alarm company. The business grew on technical expertise, high standards and personal service rather than on volume.
Today iFire provides complete fire and security solutions across Scotland and throughout the UK. From individual commercial properties and high-end residences to complex multi-site estates, our team covers all aspects of fire protection, life safety and electronic security: design and installation through to commissioning, 24/7 monitoring, maintenance and ongoing support.
In 2026 iFire became part of Ranger Fire & Security. Joining the group brings greater geographical reach, additional specialist services and the combined expertise of fire and security businesses across the UK and Ireland, while the local iFire team, identity and approach remain.

How we work
One team from design to maintenance
The same people who specify a system maintain it. That is deliberate: it keeps the recommendation honest and the handover short.
We survey before we quote, and we tell you when the existing equipment is not worth keeping. If something falls outside what we do, we say so rather than stretching a scope.
Our engineers are multi-skilled and work across fire and security, so a visit can often deal with more than one system instead of requiring a second appointment.
Certification is part of that: iFire UK Limited is third party accredited to BAFE SP203-1 for fire alarm systems and holds SSAIB certification. Ask us for current certificates for your compliance file.
